In brief

Speak to Nathalie or Adam

For many families, the festive fortnight is the fixed point of the year. A Christmas and New Year chalet in Courchevel gathers everyone under one roof, with snow on the balconies, a fire in the evening and the slopes of Les 3 Vallées waiting each morning. It is also the moment when the finest chalets are most in demand, which is why the stays that feel most effortless in December were usually arranged a long time before.

Courchevel has a particular glow at this time of year. The lights of Courchevel 1850, the busy mountain terraces at lunchtime and the sense of occasion on the last night of the year make it one of the most celebrated places in the Alps to spend the holidays. Families who prefer a softer festive atmosphere often find it lower down, in Courchevel Village.

This page is for families looking ahead to Christmas, New Year or both. Rather than a general portrait of the resort, it focuses on timing: when to begin, what to decide first, how we prepare the festive days themselves and which of our Courchevel chalets lend themselves to the season.

Why early matters

The weeks that are reserved first

The festive period is short and the number of exceptional chalets is limited. Families who return year after year often secure their dates as soon as the previous winter ends, so by the time many people start thinking about December, the choice has already narrowed. Opening the conversation early keeps every option open and gives us room to prepare chefs, transfers and celebrations without haste.

Early contact also helps when plans are still forming. If cousins have not confirmed or a grandparent is unsure about travelling, we can talk through options and explain how a reservation works before anything is final. A tailored proposal and a rental agreement always come before confirmation, so you are never committed to a point you have not understood.

  • Agree on Christmas, New Year or the whole festive period
  • List everyone travelling, from grandparents to the youngest
  • Mention the celebrations and meals that matter most
  • Note any guests arriving later or leaving early
The festive days

From Christmas Eve to the last night of the year

A festive stay often turns on a handful of meals. We can arrange a private chef for Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Year’s Eve, so the family sits down together at home and nobody spends the evening in the kitchen. Each morning starts gently too, as every stay we arrange includes a daily breakfast.

Families who want to celebrate in the resort should know that tables on the last night of the year are among the hardest of the season to secure. Our concierge handles those reservations well ahead, and festive events and celebrations can be organised on request, from an intimate dinner to a larger party. Childcare can be arranged so that parents enjoy an evening of their own.

The chalets

Festive addresses in Courchevel

For families who want the festive lights of 1850 on their doorstep, the Cospillot quarter address of Chalet Valmont is hard to better. Chalet Erise lets you ski straight from the door, and the restaurants and boutiques of 1850 lie roughly twelve minutes away on foot. Chalet Oris sits where the Chenus forest begins, while Chalet Morelle wraps private resort facilities in a warm Alpine interior.

Lower in the resort, Chalet Flys occupies a peaceful corner of Les Brigues in Courchevel Village, with the slopes about 100 metres away. Chalet Sally shares that hillside and opens onto broad valley views. Both suit families who want Christmas at an easier tempo while staying close to the festive life of the resort.
