A corporate retreat villa on the French Riviera

For a leadership team or board that needs to think clearly together, a private villa in Cannes or Saint-Tropez offers focus, privacy and a gentler pace than any conference venue.

In brief

Speak to Nathalie or Adam

The decisions that shape a company are rarely made at their best in a windowless conference room. A corporate retreat villa on the French Riviera gives a leadership team somewhere to step back from daily operations, talk openly and return with a shared plan. The setting does part of the work: a garden in the morning, a walk between sessions, a dinner where the conversation continues more freely than it would at the office.

Lutetia has been a Paris agency since 1989, and our Riviera collection includes private villas in Cannes and Saint-Tropez, each visited by our team before joining it. For an offsite we focus on what matters to the people organising it: discretion, a clear agreement, and one dedicated contact who looks after the stay from the first call to departure.

This page is written for chief executives, founders, chiefs of staff and board secretaries. It covers why a villa suits a leadership retreat, how to structure the days, and how we work with the person in your office who is responsible for making it happen.

Why a villa

Privacy for the conversations that matter

Strategy sessions, succession discussions and board reviews need confidentiality. In a hotel or a conference centre, other guests, staff and shared spaces are always nearby. In a private villa, the only people present are the ones you invited, and the agenda stays inside the house. That alone changes how candid a leadership team is prepared to be.

A villa also removes the small frictions that eat into an offsite: waiting for a lift, hunting for a quiet corner, booking a separate room for dinner. Everyone starts the day at the same breakfast table, and the concierge handles meals, transfers and evening plans so the group can stay focused on the work.

  • Only invited participants on site
  • Confidential discussions away from public spaces
  • Breakfast together each morning
  • Meals and transfers handled by the concierge
Shaping the days

A rhythm of work, fresh air and good meals

Retreats tend to work best when focused sessions alternate with time outside. A morning of strategy can be followed by lunch cooked by a private chef, an afternoon session and an hour by the pool or on the tennis court before dinner. Villa Zeliane in Cannes and Villa Solara in Saint-Tropez both have a tennis court, and every villa in the Riviera collection has a pool.

For a change of scene, the concierge can arrange a yacht charter for an afternoon at sea, spa and wellness treatments at the villa, or restaurant reservations for a dinner in town. These moments matter: they give people time to talk informally, which is often where real alignment happens. We plan them around your agenda, not the other way round.

Cannes or Saint-Tropez

Choosing the right Riviera setting

Cannes is straightforward to reach from Nice Côte d’Azur airport and suits teams arriving from several countries. Villa Orvella, on the wooded hillside of La Croix des Gardes, has a cinema room that lends itself to a presentation or a film evening, along with a sauna and a garden; Villa Elaris sits in the Californie district with sea views; Villa Zeliane combines a spa, a garden and a tennis court.

Saint-Tropez feels further from the office, which is part of its appeal for a board that wants to disconnect. Villa Amara in Les Salins has a cinema room and looks out over the sea; Villa Orea in Les Marres, with its garden and cinema room, looks across the vineyards; Villa Evara on the heights of Gassin offers privacy within a gated estate. Arrivals can be eased with helicopter transfers or private aviation on request.

  • Cannes for simple international arrivals
  • Saint-Tropez for a deeper sense of retreat
  • Cinema rooms at Villa Orvella, Villa Amara and Villa Orea
  • Tennis at Villa Zeliane and Villa Solara

Why Lutetia

What makes the difference

Every residence is visited by our team, every stay is followed by one dedicated contact, and breakfast and a private concierge are always included.

I

Discretion from the first enquiry

Participant names, agendas and dates are handled discreetly by a small team. Only the people who need to know your plans are told about them.

II

A single point of contact for the organiser

Your chief of staff or assistant works with one dedicated contact throughout. Changes in attendance or timing are absorbed without repeated briefings.

III

Terms that pass internal approval

A tailored proposal and a rental agreement are provided before confirmation. Legal and finance colleagues can review everything in writing.

IV

Hospitality that supports the agenda

Chefs, transfers and downtime are planned around your sessions. The aim is a retreat where the logistics disappear and the thinking stays clear.

Questions

Good to know

Anything else? Our team in Paris answers personally, usually within the day.

Ask our team
Can a villa serve as a working venue for a leadership offsite?

Villas in our collection can suit focused working sessions in their living spaces, gardens or cinema rooms. We confirm with each owner that a working retreat is welcome and agree any conditions in the rental agreement. Tell us the format you have in mind and we will propose suitable residences.

Is Cannes or Saint-Tropez better for a board retreat?

Cannes is often more practical for international participants arriving through Nice Côte d’Azur airport, and it has a more urban feel. Saint-Tropez offers a stronger sense of escape. Your advisor can talk through the trade-offs for your group and season.

Can meals be provided throughout the retreat?

Breakfast is served daily in every stay, and a private chef can be arranged on request for lunches and dinners. Menus are planned around your sessions and any dietary requirements. Restaurant reservations can also be made for an evening out.

How do you handle confidentiality?

We treat every corporate booking discreetly, sharing details only with the people directly involved in the stay. A private villa itself limits who is present during your sessions. If you need particular confidentiality terms, raise them with us and we will discuss how they can be reflected in the agreement.

When is a good time for a corporate retreat on the Riviera?

It depends on your calendar and on the atmosphere you want. Outside the peak summer weeks the Riviera is generally calmer, which suits a working retreat. Share your preferred windows and we will tell you which villas are available.
