Catered chalet in Zermatt, dinner served beneath the Matterhorn
Two chalets in the heart of car-free Zermatt, each with a private chef and a hosting team, compared on meals, kitchens and what the stay includes.
In brief
Speak to Nathalie or AdamIn a village without cars, a catered chalet in Zermatt does more than spare you the cooking. The shopping never has to be carried up the street, nobody queues for a table after a long day on the slopes, and the evening begins the moment the boots come off. For many of our guests, that ease is the real luxury of the week.
We work with two chalets in Zermatt, Chalet Zeyr and Chalet Anelle, both in the heart of the village and both visited by our team before joining the collection. Each comes with a private chef and a team that runs the house, yet they approach the table differently, from the way meals are billed to the layout of the kitchens. This page compares them on exactly those points.
It is written for guests who plan a ski week around the evenings as much as the mornings: the family that wants children fed without fuss, the friends who like a long dinner by the fire, and the host who would rather spend the afternoon on the mountain than thinking about the menu.
Zermatt, the essentials

Source: matterhornparadise.chWhy catering matters more in Zermatt
Zermatt is car-free: private vehicles stop at Täsch, and everything beyond arrives by train, by electric vehicle or on foot. That is much of the village’s charm, but it changes the practicalities of feeding a house party. Provisions for a full week, the wine and the ingredients for a celebration dinner all have to come in without a car at the door. This is why catered ski chalets in Zermatt make so much sense: the carrying, the shopping and the cooking belong to the team.
At Chalet Anelle, groceries can be delivered before you arrive, so the kitchen is stocked for the first evening. At both chalets, an electric taxi meets guests at the station, ski passes are brought to the door and housekeeping is done every day. What remains for you is the choice of when to eat and whether to stay in.
Chalet Zeyr and Chalet Anelle compared
At Chalet Zeyr, a chalet manager, a private chef and a team of hosts look after the stay. Breakfast and afternoon tea are included every day, and the chef prepares dinner six evenings a week, with meals and drinks charged at cost. The living room, dining room and kitchen share the upper floor around a central fireplace, with wide views of the Matterhorn, and the kitchen has a traditional wood-fired pizza oven that comes into its own on relaxed evenings after skiing.
At Chalet Anelle, a private chef prepares breakfast, afternoon tea and half board each day, with the ingredients charged in addition. A chalet manager, a host and a driver with an electric vehicle complete the team, and a personalised concierge service is included. The open kitchen is arranged around a central island, while a separate professional kitchen allows the chef to work out of sight, which makes the house a natural choice for family gatherings and for receiving friends.
In short, Zeyr suits guests who enjoy the convivial feel of one great room, an informal pizza night and an evening in the village when the chef rests. Anelle suits those who want dinner prepared every day under half board, in a luxury ski chalet in Zermatt laid out for entertaining.
- Chalet Zeyr: breakfast and afternoon tea daily, dinner six evenings, meals and drinks at cost
- Chalet Anelle: breakfast, afternoon tea and half board daily, ingredients charged in addition
- Both chalets: daily housekeeping and ski passes delivered
- Both chalets: an electric taxi between the station and the door
Evenings in, evenings out
Catering in Zermatt never obliges you to stay in. Chalet Anelle sits a short stroll from the village’s restaurants, bars and boutiques, and Chalet Zeyr, set within a private residence of chalets, has fine tables and luxury shops within easy reach. Our concierge reserves restaurants for the nights you plan to go out, and the chef simply plans the week around them.
Some evenings deserve more than a good dinner. For a birthday, an anniversary or a family reunion, our concierge can arrange the celebration itself around the chalet’s table. Share allergies, children’s mealtimes and the wines you enjoy when you first get in touch, and your dedicated contact will pass every detail to the team before you arrive, whichever Zermatt luxury chalet you choose.

Two catered chalets in the heart of Zermatt
Both chalets come with a private chef and a hosting team. The table below shows the remaining details of each, which we confirm in your tailored proposal.
What makes the difference
Every residence is visited by our team, every stay is followed by one dedicated contact, and breakfast and a private concierge are always included.
Meal plans explained plainly
We set out which meals each chalet serves and how food and drink are billed before you decide. The same terms appear in your rental agreement, so the account at the end of the stay holds no surprises.
Both kitchens known closely
Our team has visited both Zermatt chalets, including the kitchens and dining rooms where your evenings will unfold. We can tell you which one will feel right for the way your group likes to eat.
A team that does the carrying
In a village without cars, the hosting team handles the provisioning, the deliveries and the daily running of the house. Your group is free to ski until the last lift and come home to a table already laid.
Requests beyond the menu
Ski instructors, childcare, wellness treatments and mountain outings can be woven around mealtimes by our concierge. One message to your dedicated contact is enough to set them in motion.

Anything else? Our team in Paris answers personally, usually within the day.
Ask our teamHow does half board at Chalet Anelle differ from the catering at Chalet Zeyr?
At Chalet Anelle, the chef prepares breakfast, afternoon tea and half board every day, so dinner is part of each day’s service, with ingredients charged in addition. At Chalet Zeyr, breakfast and afternoon tea are included daily and the chef cooks dinner six evenings a week, with meals and drinks charged at cost. Both formulas are set out in full in your proposal, where pricing is given on request.
Do we need to order food before arriving in Zermatt?
No. At Chalet Anelle, groceries can be delivered before you arrive, and at Chalet Zeyr the chef and hosts take care of the shopping behind each meal. Tell us in advance about any particular products or wines you would like, so they are ready for the first evening.
Which Zermatt chalet is better for entertaining?
Chalet Anelle was laid out with receiving in mind: a separate professional kitchen lets the chef work discreetly while guests gather around the open kitchen and the fireplace in the living room. Chalet Zeyr has a more informal, open feel, with its living spaces sharing one floor around a central fireplace. Both make a warm setting for a family occasion.
Can we still dine out in the village?
Of course. Both chalets are in the heart of Zermatt, so restaurants are close at hand, and our concierge reserves tables for the evenings you plan to go out. Let the team know your plans and the week’s menus are arranged around them.
How are food and drink charged?
Food and drink are charged on top of the rental, under terms set out in your rental agreement before you confirm. At Chalet Zeyr meals and drinks are billed at cost, and at Chalet Anelle the ingredients the chef uses are charged in addition. Your dedicated contact will walk you through the arrangement for the chalet you choose.
